NWCCC Strava Challenge!

I hope everyone is doing well and still getting some time in on the bike!

**PLEASE share this with as many of your club members as possible, as not everyone is on this email list. Also, please join the new NWCCC Mailing List **

The NWCCC board has been thinking about how to keep people motivated and connected during these difficult times, and we have decided to host a Strava Challenge – complete with prizes!! This will be a 4 week challenge starting Monday, June 1st. The challenge will only be open to those who were eligible to race this spring season. In order to participate, have your club members join the NWCCC 2020 Strava group. This will help us keep track of results, and will motivate everyone! We will also be posting updates/ details in the Strava group and encourage others to post there as well!

Challenge Details

For each week of the challenge there will be a ‘theme’ (ie. most miles, most elevation) and at the end of the week the 1st place male and female will be awarded a prize, and 1st-3rd will get a shoutout on social media! In addition, there will be a ‘prime’ each week, on a surprise day, and an award will be given to 1st place (according to the ‘theme’), as well as one random placing.

At the end of the four weeks there will also be a team award. This award will go to the school with the most cumulative hours, which will be calculated with the top 5 riders from each school. The prize will go to ALL participating members from that school. In order to be considered a participant, an individual must complete at least 10 rides over the 4 weeks.

Both INDOOR and OUTDOOR rides will count and elevation from Zwift WILL count! The theme for each week is listed below:

  • Week 1 – Most solo miles
  • Week 2 – Most elevation gain
  • Week 3 – Most hours
  • Week 4 – Most miles

Other details:

  • PRIZES will include, but are not limited to, items from AMP humanChamois ButtrCliff, and even a Trek-Segafredo jersey!!
  • Prizes will all be sent out at the end of the challenge. We will be reaching out to coordinate shipping.
  • Within the next two weeks we ask that a representative from each school send us a roster of their members that are participating and have joined the Strava club. We may also ask one person to help with some tallying for their school’s members. We will follow up with another email in the next week.

We are really excited to be hosting this challenge and hope you all are excited to participate!
